Charity Auction that you missed because I suck
I love Donald.

Donald is not my husband, but rather an artist friend who recently purchased a mermaid banner of mine at a charity auction.

Remember just last week when I said that this blog was to be a portal of information on my art? Oh yeah- You missed the Charity Auction yesterday. And guess what? I'm such a clueless mess that I just googled the auction thingy and found this. Hello. That's my mermaid. I had no idea because I'm not even a member of the CAA. Whatever. Thanks, CAA! You rock.

So anyway, was a lovely charity event held at the Four Springs Preserve and was vr vr fun. (wine tasting provided by Brindles!) Involved more dressing up (yay!) and an exciting live auction where my banner did quite well. Thanks again to Jeannie and Donald and others who bid on it. I honestly thought they were being nice when they told me they were going to bid on it. Apparently you like me. You really really like me (insert mental images of tears streaming all the while clutching some sort of shiny award.)

So to recap, it was vr vr fun and I met many fabulous and kind people. Unfortunately, I have already forgotten everybody's name. I suck at that.

Mission in Life
Once upon a time there was an artist named Shano.

Shano had a busy schedule, a busy life, a family, a ranch and a plethora of animals to look after. Shano always told herself that when her youngest finally went to school full time in first grade, that she would paint and paint and paint, thus becoming rich rich rich and famous. She would have COPIOUS amounts of free to time not only paint, but do crafty things, and clean, and organize, and life would be wonderful. Euphoric! Friends would pop by unannounced and compliment Shano on her gloriously clean house and thus would be insanely jealous of how perfect her life is.

But no.

Shano decides that she needs. NEEDS. to find a non-existent Halloween screensaver that was her daughter's favorite when her daughter was a mere two-years-old (her daughter is almost nine now.) Hours turned into years and still no Halloween screensaver with 3D candy corns and other stuff (it's been 7 years, who can remember what the other 3D items were) that twirl around on a black background with a little witch that occasionally flies by and says "boo" (or cackles or something). Shano's computer is now completely bogged down with gazillions of megabytes of every idiotic, stupid, half-witted, spyware infested, Halloween screensaver known to man.

Poor Shano, who lives. LIVES. for Halloween is on a mission (not unlike an Apostle!) to seek the elusive Halloween screensaver. No more painting. No more cleaning. Just sitting at the computer in sweats and a ponytail searching unmercifully for the clandestine 3D Halloween Screensaver while life (the family, ranch, and animals) fall apart around her. Wish her well people. Wish her well.

The moral of the story is: Do not become completely neurotic/insane about certain Halloween screensavers. (And get on some more effective meds.)

Busy busy girl
Every so often (about every other day) I tell my husband, "We need to eliminate some of our workload". ("We" meaning "me") I'm completely overwhelmed and that means that I never have time to post. This blog was supposed to keep people updated on me and my art. Okay then. You missed the AAUW art show that I participated in this weekend. Was fun (especially the dressing up part)- smoozed with people and other artists. Sold this painting:

Time to Say Goodbye

Honestly, I dislike smoozing. I really don't feel comfortable talking about my art. Thankfully my friend and art rep was there to do a lot of the smoozing for me. Because really. I am capable of saying the most STUPID, incoherent, babbling of things. I am practically incapable of just being quiet. But artists are supposed to be eccentric, right? But did you also know that it's perfectly acceptable to be socially retarded and scare people?

Sorry you missed it. I missed you.
